Zemek(?) thinks the game will hinge on Greene period, I believe it will hinge on a lot more than that, we will have an offensive player or 2 in the game.

I was thinking Jamarcuss needed to start this year but we have so much around the QB that Randall will be better this year. Saban will do to Randall what he did to Mauck put him in position to make plays that he can make and let the Defense win the game for us. Green will be BLACK AND BLUE.

We have not seen the best out of a Saban coordinated, Saban called defensive scheme and team as of yet...People like to think we'll never see the likes of that defensive unit again...To be honest, Marquise Hill and Marcus Spears were considered-at the outset of the year-to be disappointments up to that point in their LSU careers. Only last year did either of them come into their own.

I think that Kyle Williams is only a junior this year. The same classification that his two previous defensive line trenchmates were in the previous season before they "broke out". I think the same of Melvin Oliver. Sean Merrill is someone we haven't seen yet. Claude Wroten we haven't seen yet. Kirston Pittman we've only gotten a sneak peak of so far...

Our linebackers will be fine...and our secondary-again-will be better this year...

I just don't see how anyone can say that they can score on our defense. Georgia got a year better, but hey, so did we! Did they magically become able to prevent multiple sacks, constant pressure, and the magical ability for LSU defensive backs to not be able to cover?

Our defense is like a fine wine...the longer it's here, the easier it is for players to come in and fill roles...

For us not to be favored in every game next year is for even the most logical of observers a somewhat illogical thought.

Watch out there TE ,I made similar statements a week or so ago and got blasted by mr.reality tirk and finger in my eye of the tiger. For what its worth I think you are right on track.Wroten and Stevenson are the real deal and word is Kuale and Highsmith are going to contribute as well. :eek:ldskule:

yep that's me. I think its unrealistic to expect a NC defense that was best in the country very possibly the best LSU defense ever to expect it to be as good or better this year. Sue me for thinking it only makes sense. Feel free to have your opinion, just try to avoid whining about me in another post. I'm sure I am not alone in my opinion nor you with yours.

I agree with TE. This is a system, and only this year will the team be full of Saban only recruits (assuming there were some redshirters in 1999 still with the team last year- which may be a stretch). Say what you want about "recruiting national champs" and how they translate to the real thing, but we have seen it, and it is only the beginning, as long as Saban is around, anyway.

I'm all for optimism and predicting greatness for your team, but are you actually suggesting that the LSU defense will hold all opponents to ZERO points? Has any defense in DI ever held all opponents to zero points?
