    15. LSU 7-2 next game: Ole Miss
This is too low because … The defense has been playing well all season long, and now things have been turned up a few notches. It made the big plays when it had to dominating Alabama holding the offense to fewer than ten first downs.
This is too high because … There’s no passing game. When the defense and running game are rolling a passing attack isn’t as important, but the ineffectiveness is separating LSU from the upper-level teams.

What do you think about the assessment ? I believe the comment about the passing game seperating us from some of the teams ahead of us has merit.

It does have merit, but how has FSU's offense played, especially their passing game? How has UM's offense played, especially their passing game? How has Wisconsin's offense played, especially their passing game? how has VA Tech's offense played, especially their passing game? How has Tenn. offense played, especially their passing game(and now it will be even worse with Casey's little brotha)?

Seems as a few of the teams ranked right above us may have a lot of the same offensive problems we have had but just may not have quite the defense we have.

what matters is the W's in possibly the toughest division, in the toughest conference.

If they want to split hairs then why do they overlook we lost by one point to possibly the best team in the nation at their house (and a horrible call). Everyone likes to point out the negatives yet the defense is drastically improving each game as usual as Nick Saban's d's do. Has happened every year he has been here.

Our defense will continue to keep us in every games and even win some for us like last week. Moreso next year for sure. Writers always forget defense is what wins. They need to be impressed and that's with lotsa yardage and lotsa points. LSU wins the old school way. Look out when this team finds its identity on offense. Only 7 seniors is a scary thought.

The defense appears to be peaking here at the end of the season . The only poll that matters is the one at the end of the season. I predict ( and I'm certainly not the first) that we will be in the top ten in said final poll. Book it Danno !

If LSU can match up with Texas in the Cotton Bowl and of course win (which is what we will do), then LSU is projected to finish between 6th and 8th spots in the polls.

Not bad for a team with its struggles at QB this year. Bodes well for next year.
