Yep...seemed like all the air went out from the surrounding area from the concussion of that hit. I am under the goal to the left in the white shirt in the last slo-mo of the play.

I've been following his recovery...glad he is still progressing.

I for one had a new found respect for Joe that day. That was an NFL hit under the bright lights prime time Saturday nite, DV. Driving for the go ahead score, across the middle. He had to know he was about to get de-cleated. Got up like a man and shook it off, then came back with the eventual TD catch after the penalty. One tough SOB.
I kept expecting him to start spitting out teeth as he was getting up, like that Steven Seagal movie where he whacked that tough guy over the mouth with a billiard ball wrapped in a pillow case.
Godspeed to the young man involved in the car accident. Very talented :geauxtige

I remember him walking on the field for the tenessee game last year. It sent goosebumps down my spine. We were all cheering him on. It was tough seeing him limp like that. Best of luck to him, the determination and positive thinking will do him a lot of good.

Just read that Chad Jones was waived by the Giants (failed physical). Sad to hear.

They hung in there with him for a while At some point, it still has to be a business. Seems like a sad but somewhat inevitable ending. I wish the guy the best. The way he's come back from that injury is amazing.

Even though he had to waive S Chad Jones, who failed a physical after years of rehab on the leg he injured in a 2010 car accident, general manager Jerry Reese still considers the former LSU star a “part of the Giants family,” adding, “we'll continue to work with him in his rehab.” Jones thanked the Giants through his agent, Rocky Aceneaux.

It is sad to hear, but the miracle is that Chad Jones is alive today, and that he can walk and run. A person of lesser physical strength wouldn't have survived being extracted from that vehicle to make it to the hospital.

Maybe there could be some coaching in Jones' future?

How about baseball? Less physical and they have a minor league in which he can get himself back in shape.

Yeah, I think all of us have been expecting baseball to be the eventual outcome since hearing the news about how bad he was injured in the accident. If that's the case, does Chad Jones focus solely on being a lefty reliever? Or is his body/legs strong enough to begin developing as a position player? If I recall, he also swung a big stick but the football conflict prevented him from developing into an everyday player.

I also recall reading an article when he was drafted (MLB) out of high school and stating that baseball was his first love. I think the signing bonus wasn't quite enough to sign so he decided to attend LSU. It's been awhile since that article but would appreciate reading it again if anyone can find.
