ESPN GameDay host Chris Fowler said, "LSU tailback Justin Vincent has to get out of the doghouse and start playing more." Have these guys ever watched an LSU game, they must not have because Addai is a few steps ahead of Vincent. I'm sure the last LSU game they have seen was LSU vs. OU in '03. http://shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051027/SPORTS0202/510270317/1028
JV still seems to be suffering from the curse. He has not lived up to his freshman numbers. JA is just a monster RB, receiver, pass blocker, punt team playmaker.....and the list goes on. I DO hope JV can get it back together for next yr at least, there is definately talent there.
I don't know the context in which the quote was made, but if he said this to mean that Vincent (or Carey or...someone) has to step up to keep Addai from having to carry it 20-30 times every game, he's correct. Joe's a stud, but on nights where the QB makes errant throws and WRs drop sure TD passes---okay, that's about every game these days---Addai's the only constant we have. And we can't get him hurt, either, so he needs to not be carrying the whole load the way he has the past couple of weeks.
Honestly, and god forbid it does happen, if Joe were to go down and JV was forced to carry the ground game again, I have a feeling JV would do a great job. I just think there is no way he would let his team down.
I agree I think once JV gets some touches he will get it back. I thought he was headed that way after Vandy then in the next two games he only touches the ball twice. I think the next two weeks will help with confidence. That is the only thing that he needs. He still has the talent and has not lost a step. He is unsure of his steps and that is just confidence. I think we need to pitch it to him and also run some screens he needs to be able to pick his holes not have to go through on particular hole. WHen he was successful his fresh. yr. he was able to pick his hole.
I agree. I saw someone else post this about JV (sorry for no credit :yelwink2: ) but he is a numbers type running-back. He will get his yards but he needs to get the ball more. Great example was the NC Sugar Bowl, most runs were ok but he busted the big 60 something yarder and that allowed him to reach the 100 mark. Same would be said in all games he played, he will keep coming at ya with the 2-5 yarders then bust one. If JV were thrust into the starting line-up as the main back I really think we would see him put up some nice numbers, I wouldn't be worried at all.
