Young PG with loads of potential that could never really stay healthy. He blew out his knee last night Willis McGahee style on a fast break layup.

Those squeamish about these types of injuries shouldn't watch.

Gruesome injury. You're right about his potential -- assuming he can come back healthy, he'll be a fun player to watch develop. He's still really young, and playing a position where age seems to help a bit.

Saw that on the news and man was that uuuuuuugly!!! I destroyed my knee in '96 and what a nightmare that was, I wish the guy luck in his recovery.

Thats the worst injury I can remember seeing in basketball. That was nasty!

Agreed. Football - Joe Theismann's broken leg. Baseball - There was a pitcher a couple years back who broke his arm on a pitch. It was absolutely disgusting. I would say Dave Dravecky(sp?), who had to have his arm amputated, but I never actually saw footage of him breaking his arm, which I believe was similar to the guy I am thinking about.

Tyrone Prothros was nasty as well.

Here is what a doctor said about the injury:

He did dislocate his tibio-femoral joint. I hope he signed a nice contract and he doesn't waste his money. He's never playing in the pros again.

    ACL
    PCL
    MCL
    meniscus

Basically nothing but hamstrings and quads left to hold is lower leg on. I just hope is blood vessels are OK. If not, the kid could lose his leg.

I heard on the radio that doctors are saying that his circulatory and nervous systems are fine.
