Now dammit I was going to post one of my brilliant diatribes in another thread and it got deleted as I tried to reply so I'll say it here. :grin: The topic was a certain coach being contacted about a certain job in the Big 10. He'd definately get the call and would be stupid not to listen. I don't right now think he would take it but...never say never. On interest in Saban (I'm breaking my self imposed promise not to mention him ever but this leads to a pertinent point)...he was interviewed by Sporting News and made a simple comment comparing LSU and Bama. He said he had to play in 6 golf tourneys since he arrived in Bama compared to 2 in all his time at LSU. He said that they just don't get it. He implied he should be left alone to do his job without all of the side action. To me is sounds as if he is already looking...Saban to Michigan?
I have a feeling that he'll just retire after the year (if that wasn't already the plan) because he was close to doing so after last season. Even IF Michigan goes 11-1 the rest of the way and win the Big Ten conference, he might still be asked to just step down behind the dignity of using the phrase, "retire" as opposed to be fired. And even if Michigan were to go after Miles--even if they only ask for permission to speak to him--as long as Miles gives us another double-digit winning season (especially if an SEC championship is in the cards) then we're sure to be in line to giving Miles a heafty pay raise.
I was over on the Michigan Scout boards a few minutes ago (because a good old fashioned message board meltdown is FUN), and the Fire Carr! threads are prolific. "I don't want to watch anymore college football this year..." "We're NEVER going to live this down..." You get the picture.
Doesn't seem too far off from what some of the naysayers say on THIS forum after every close LSU game....
