1. this.............and a nice fire to eat it by
  2. im gonna have to see if i have any gumbo in the freezer.

if not, i know i have some homemade chicken broth in the freezer. maybe if i can get greenie to open the cans for me i can make some oyster artichoke soup. that is one of my favorites and easy to make.
  3. Chicken and Sausage Gumbo is a favorite that always comes out around my house this time of year. It takes awhile to prepare, sure, but man is it worth it after being cold all day!

    Other favorites are:

Seafood Gumbo (more shrimp, less crab)
Spaghetti with Italian Sausage and Meatballs
    Wine
    JD#7
    Red Beans and Rice

  4. I have gumbo and shrimp and corn bisque in the freezer from my family. I made some great chicken tortilla soup the other night that turned out really good. I've also made chili and potato soup. My next adventure will be chicken and dumplings...
  5. I have made dumplings using canned biscuits. Roll them out and cut them to size. Great shortcut!
  6. I make a chili that would make you want to slap yo' momma. No beans, chuck roast or sirloin cut into chunks rather than ground meat. I may put a pot on in time for the game Saturday.

(In my best Andy Rooney voice) "d'ja ever wonder why food you have to eat with a spoon tastes better in cold weather?" :hihi:
  7. Did both, wife cooked the chicken and sausage gumbo. Sunday night I cooked a pastalya with "shrimps", "tonnare mais sa ces bon oui !"
  8. i managed the oyster artichoke soup tonight. hit the spot!
