1. Boo yah! Bout time they get a movement.

More power to 'em and don't gimme that "They're getting paid, they're on scholarship" crap. Tuition is not enough "payment" for sacrificing one's body like they do.

  3. They are getting paid , and well, but now they will be able to go to college without a scholarship , save tax payers $$$$ and pay for their food , health care , and room and board . Oh do not forget their tutors , I think it is great . This opens the door to simi pro teams off the college campus . Great idea . Crap enough ??

  4. Don't celebrate yet. This will be argued in one courtroom or another for years. I firmly believe it will end up in the Supreme Court....too much money involved for a lower court to have the last word.
  5. It would be the ruin of college football and by extension all college athletics if it happens.

This was the ruling of one lower level labor relations official probably some liberal appointed by Obama (LOL just joking Red, NC et al). It will be appealed to the NRLB and if upheld will go to court....nothing will happen for at least 10 years.

  6. So now they can go on strike? Sorry but they need college football more than college football needs them. They have no leverage and would be throwing any potential to the NFL and a free education away.

  7. This sums the conceptual flaw with all unions. Ignores the law of supply and demand.
  8. Try to think of higher education as an investment rather than income.

  9. So a question to my conservative friends that are ok with this idea.

After they start making a whopping 2 dollars an hour are y'all gonna call in Scott Walker to bust up the union?
