My fellow LSU fans aren't going to like my post here and I'm sure I'll get royally flamed by them.

But.........I saw my first OU game in Norman in 1979. I work for a television station here in Louisiana and was on the sidelines back then during the game. Switzer was coach and the guy I worked with went to OU in the early 70's when they won several titles.

Billy Sims was with them and I remember standing there on the sidelines covering the game for our station and OU was playing either Nebraska or Iowa. I believe it was Iowa because he told me just the other day that at that very game we were at with Iowa.......Stoops was on the field playing for Iowa!!!

I believe it was Nebraska I saw OU play in 1980 at Norman.
Having already been to countless LSU games and my love for LSU has never wained.......but I've got to tell you those two games I saw in Norman I remember thinking to myself......"I'm watching a damn pro team here!"

I've always been in awe of OU. Always!

I just don't want to come away on Jan. 4th being embarrassed.
I hope like hell we'll win but I'm doubtful. That being said.....I'm proud as hell LSU is playing such a great team and if we don't win I hope we are at least respectable.

Good luck and from what I've been reading in this forum you guys are class fans and you were class way back then, when I came and saw OU play so long ago. Where ever I went on the two trips to Norman the OU fans were always very complimentary to LSU when I told them where I was from and who my team was. We (LSU) were mediocre in those days and have been until this season but the OU fans I talked with said they'd love to see a game in Tiger stadium.

My friend (from OU) that I covered the games with at OU went to several LSU games when we worked together at the tv station. He told me that maybe the greatest college experience is a night game at LSU.

Hope you guys come down sometime next year and experience the excitement. Don't believe all the crap you read about a bunch of drunken, disrespectful, crazy cajuns. Those are extreme isolated and exaggerated incidents.

You'll eat and drink to your hearts content at the tailgaiting parties. By the way, Beano Cook said a night game at Tiger stadium is one of the top ten experiences in college football.
He said we start tailgaiting on Thursday! He's right.

Again, good luck and let's hope (I'm praying) for a good and exciting game.

USC and the Pac-10 can kiss my ass. Their pass defense can't suck enough! We may not beat OU but I'd bet the farm we'd kick USC's ass any day.
