it pains me to say this but im forced to admit it....pete carroll is a helluva college coach. with the experience they lost this year, this is as close to a rebuilding season as SC will ever see. We can say what we want about his laissez faire style of coaching (like les is portrayed) but how many believed their production would take a serious hit when Chow left? I know i did somewhat. He lost beybey as well. then losing leinart, lendale and reggie all in the same backfield and still producing with an undecided at qb and whoever it was running the ball. this after losing carson palmer nonetheless. mike williams is already a fat afterthought. two great receivers returned but ask Marcus Monk if he felt utilized with casey dick/mustain at arkansas. You need a qb as well. take into account the babes and ocean that attracts recruits with the easygoing approach of petey that most kids favor and you have a continuum of recruiting the likes which may have never been seen since scholarship limitations. i dont think ive ever seen a more relaxed guy on the sideline. Hell, not even in the stands. Dude has more fun than the fans. I hate SC as much as the next guy and the word I feel best describes petey is "smarmy" but if this is really considered a down year, then damn. However, they wont finish #1 next year due to losing their top 2 wr's. Much like us yet we lose our qb as well. so no chance either of us finish in the bcs NC game I would guess. oh and one other confession is my failure to give laron credit for being a better sportsman during the arkansas game. all year hes been bush league taunting guys even if getting beat or mistackling. he was helping dudes up all game against the pigs and not running his piehole as much. not to mention he had a great game. maybe someone had a talk with him. so if petey and laron are reading this forum like they normally do, well there ya go.
I agree with you and was talking about this with my dad during Thanksgiving. As much as I hate the man he is a great college coach and I pray he goes to the Cardinals. Now if I was a football player and had a chance to play for him I would find it very hard to turn down. He just seems fun to play for and is a proven pipeline to the NFL.
They were saying today how he even gets on on special teams during practices and runs down the field with the coverage and really gets in to it.
I'll always hate the trojans for stealing our thunder in 2003 -- that was OUR year dammit!! IF I were to ever say anything nice about that man, that would be one skeleton that would never esacape my closet, NEVER!!! God Bless LSU!!!
