    Interesting

But before you go thinking that Congress has better things to do than mess with the BCS, think again. The senator cites the Sherman Antitrust Act, which prohibits "contracts, combinations or conspiracies" designed to reduce competition.
If "those with the power to reform the system" don't do so voluntarily, Hatch writes, then "legislation may be required to ensure that all colleges and universities receive an equal opportunity."

i dont remember any of louisiana's delegation whining, but scott cowan started the anti-trust argument back in wheneveritwas that tulane had their undefeated season and went to the liberty bowl. seems since then, when ever some school gets their panties wadded, that is what some some screams. i guess its good brownie points with the voters. :rolleye33:

    lets see....

economy in the toilet, wars in iraq and afghanistan, korea acting like a pissy toddler, iran acting like a delinquent teenager, but lets spend our time on the bcs. maybe we can introduce hatch to chris hurricane and get a two'fer. :rolleye33:

    And its not over:

Rep. Joe Barton of Texas, the top Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, has introduced legislation that would prevent the NCAA from calling a game a national championship unless it's the outcome of a playoff. At a May hearing, Barton warned that the legislation would move forward "if we don't see some action in the next two months" from BCS on switching to a playoff system.
