1. Disagree ... that 1st down vertical toss to Brazell for a 50-yard TD was electrifying ... and sadly, LSU is capable of calling that play early and often in games ... BUT I'M GUESSING "THAT SORRY BASTID RESPONSIBLE" ... MILES OR FISHER OR BOTH ... are skeerrred ... scared to take a chance and open it up.

It's a one-game season Less & Jimbeaux ... LESBEAUX ... play like there's no tomorrow ... or we'll be sputtering against MILDEW STATE in the Aunt Jemima Bowl ... and Jimbeaux will be hunting a job in the JUCO ranks next season ... Jimbo Fisher head coach .... my ass!
  2. That is what one game compared to at least 4 - Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Arkansas. Not a good comparison. 4 mentally draining games versus one.
  3. I know I know... I just like to be devils advocate....
  4. LSU is not playing PERFECT football, amigo. Who is? But 10-1 is a GREAT football season by anyone's measure.

If one can only be content in perfection . . . it's going to be a sad and disappointing life.
  5. :dis:

I know.. but You and I both know that LSU is better than what they are playing at right now....
  6. maybe your wife should apply to become a defensive coordinator somewhere. SHE recognizes what LSU is gonna do, but yet we still managed to outscore our opponents 10 out of 11 games this year. surely one of those 10 teams could use her help.
  7. Yes, but the difference is that you are treating winning ugly just like we were losing. I don't get it.

If LSU is 10-1 and ranked #3 and still has room to improve then I'm friggin' delighted. A lot of teams (like Bama) have laid it all on the line and ran out of gas, depth, talent, and luck.

This team has played nine straight games and is going to the SECCG and a January bowl game . . . so I'm prepared to cut them a little slack for winning the SEC West outright . . . even by a mere two points.

You should visit the Auburn board. You'd be a big hit there. They have 10 threads over there saying that "everybody" knows that Auburn is the best team in the SEC, that LSU is just lucky, that Miles can't coach, and that Nick's talented recruits are doing it all on their own.

It's a losers lament. Damned if I can understand that kind of talk from fans of a winning team.

  8. I agree with both of you.

Execution is the main goal of any offense.

I can be 50/50 on any guess as to a play call. Run/pass ......

    A few points:

1.) We miss alley broussard type of runner. Addai and Vincent just dont have the leg strength that broussard does.

2.) Jamarcus is not a precise passer that is going to put it on the mark every time. But when he does our receivers drop alot of them and this hurts consistency of driving the ball. And when you dont go for the big play it means you need to drive consistently.

3.) Jimbo likes to be conservative in his game management. He prefers to run the ball but realizes with Alley out he must mix it up. He has been unwilling to pick one or the other to give this team an identity. As JR matures i think maybe he lets him loose a little.

4.) JR is good at improvising and i think he does it more than he has too but he reverts back to what he is comfortable doing. I have a feeling in high school JR was allowed to improvise all the time. With Saban i think he pulled him sometimes just because he did improvise so much and not stick to the fundamentals of the play. JR hesitates on his throws sometimes and doesnt let the ball go on time.

5.) I think our oline play has been good on the whole but the run blocking does not seem crisp. For whatever reason due to timing or holding the blocks holes have not been there.
  9. This team is very evenly split between passing & running. It's close to 50% every game and if you look at the stats sheet you will realize that even if it feels like it, our play calling is not as predictable as you think. We don't run every 1st down, we don't run every 3rd & long. We don't throw deep every 2nd & 10. Those are just slight tendencies of this coaching staff, but are FAR from being "every time".

I said it in another thread I think, but if this team was executing anywhere near where they could be, they would easily be averaging 40 points a game. Any time an SEC team can average 40 pts a game play calling is NOT the problem. Execution is our problem.
  10. lmao

I know a few Pac-10 teams that would die for that insight. Maybe I can be her agent and shop her around.

Some people just don't have a clue. I can usually guess 1 of the 5 powerball numbers. Does that make me Notrusdamus. NO. Does that make me a millionare. NO.

Was Arkansas offense pretty predictive? I would say so. Football is a chess match between coordinators. Guess right you win - Guess wrong 50-yard TD pass to Bennie. There are hundred of details within the context of a game that the average fan just does not pick up on. It's the 5-6 play calls that they can predict that makes them feel they are the next coming of Bill Belichick.
