Could Saban really wait until Christmas day to break LSU hearts all across the nation??? If his decision is that he's leaving for Miami, that would be one of the WORST Christmas presents ever given to LSU athletics.... :bncry:
If it is, I would continue to be very thankful for everything given to me and my university in the last year.
O-crap-o-la!!! THe more I think about it, the more I can't help but feel a negative vibe!!! Considering my question to open up this thread, I can see Saban giving his press conference to announce his acceptance of the Miami job, being held in Florida--AWAY from the mass fan base... :bncry: :sob: Man, why can't I be "aloof" of everything?!?!! I'd probably be healthier..... That's it! I'm getting off the computer and I'm NOT coming back on until AFTER the press conference!!!
I thought about that. If PC is in BR, he stays, if in Miami, he goes. But Orlando? Still in FL. BUT, wouldn't the Dolphins want to make the announcement for the benefit of their fan base? I am going 51-49% that Saban stays based on that factor. I really don't know, but that's my guess. He announces at Orlando that he is staying and then LSU focuses on the bowl. I hope I am not wrong.
I have consistently posted that I thought Saban would leave for the challenge of the NFL. Events of the last few days have caused me to change my opinion. I think Nick turned Miami down on Wed. Hizenga flew to BR to save the deal, offer some more $ or control. If Nick didn't want it Wed., I don't think it was about $, so no matter what WH said, Nick should still not want the job. If I decided to quit my job, and my present employer offered a counter, I would not change my mind and accept it. I would not leave just for $, but because there were other things I didn't like about the job. $ wouldn't change that. A little different situation here, but just about taking a job instead of leaving a job. With Crawfish's posts, I'm more opptomistic than a few days ago. God, I'd hate to hear Nick was leaving on XMAS day. What a kick in the butt.
I logged on to post this same question. How could he annouce he is leaving his beloved fans on the most celebrated day of the year. Christmas is about 'giving' and I believe Saban is going to give LSU more reason to celebrate today. Merry Christmas! :thumb:
Nick clearly wants to coach in this bowl game, even if he walks. But an exit announcement just when the team arrives in Orlando would really take the starch out of the Tigers. I can't imagine that Skip would let him coach the game under such conditions. On the other hand an announcment that he is staying would make the team sky-high for the next week.
I tend to agree. If it were bad news, would NS be so insensitive as to break the bad news to the beloved fans right on Christmas day? He could easily have waited till Sunday, which could have been a bad sign. ________ Lovely Wendie
