1. I just left Marty J's on Perkins Rd. Wednesday from 5 til 8:30 all the boiled crabs you can eat for $24.95. With some places charging as much as $4 per crab I gotta do it.
  2. How can you Cajuns eat boiled crabs?

Listen up: You STEAM crabs. In Old Bay.

You probably boil shrimp, too! Geez!
  3. Steamed crabs are good but boiled are wonderful

  4. Damn right. We boil them in Zatarans. Yankees boil seafood in water. Yuck.
KyleK and Bengal B like this.
  5. Not what I expected when I saw the thread title and who started it.
  6. just buy a dozen for 20 or so dollars and take them home. hard enough eating that many at home much less in a restaurant. the number ones are double that but worth every penny.
  7. Have you been watching Back to the Past? Where can you get a dozen for $2o these days. Last year when I found out that Sammy's was charging $4 PER CRAB I went to Heads & Tails in the seafood market section and they wanted $3.65 per crab. At that price a dozen would be close to $5o with the tax. I think what has happened is that there is a crab shortage on the East Coast around Maryland and Virginia where people like @HalloweenRun desecrate them by steaming them with Ole Bay and vinegar and they are importing Louisiana crabs at a premium price.

About 4 years ago I saw a guy selling crabs by the bushel outside a convenience store in Virginia Beach for $80 a bushel. I don't know how many crabs are in a bushel but I would bet they are a lot more expensive there now too
  8. Glad you asked, we called all over this past weekend and found them 20 bucks a dozen at Christian brothers and 22 a dozen at a place called Cajun Catch. Worth the drive from baton rouge. The #1s were $44/12 at CBs.
  9. Where are those places?
  10. Ones on hwy 44 in gonzales and the other place was off hwy 30 not far from the interstate if you exit there.
