  3. Unofficial BCS Standings Week 6

I've got mine updated with everything except the Kenneth Massey Rankings. For what it's worth, I believe that Virginia Tech will pass Texas in the rankings for this week at least. Don't believe it will last. Oh what might have been...

    Anyway.

This week is also the first release of the Anderson & Hester poll, which LSU is 15th in this week. I will post the Kenneth Massey as soon as it's updated.
  4. I guess we differ in the glass half-full/half-empty realm. I'm personally relieved that we only fell 7 spots. This early in the season, losing a game can really set you back. Look at Oklahoma, they fell pretty hard after losing to TCU, and now they are no longer ranked after the UCLA game.

As far as the margin of victory, I don't believe a win of 100-0 would have changed voters mind. We don't know how far down they planned to vote us after the Tennessee loss because a poll wasn't release between that game and this one. We don't know if they would have put us at 13, then we moved up to 12 or 11. We just don't know. I don't believe any voters watched the LSU-Mississippi State game. They probably just saw that it was a blow-out, as it should have been, and left it at that.
  5. I've updated to include Massey. LSU sits at 11th. Not too bad of a position to be in considering we are 2-1 at this point.
  6. Those Colley, I think that's the one, are ridiculous! LSU at like 26...behind Texas Tech, Wyoming and South Florida. USC is #6? Whatever forumula he uses for his computer poll, he needs to overhaul it.
  7. Tellshow's site now shows LSU as #11 as well. NIce work DH.
  8. It looks bad right now, but it will improve as the year goes on. I actually think it's one of the fairest in the BCS.

His formula doesn't count games against Div I-AA opponents, which means LSU's game against Appl State won't be factored in. I think this is a good thing, because usually in computer polls one game against a I-AA can be more damaging than having not played a game at all that week (I know it's stupid, but oh well).

It's basically a combination of winning percentage and SOS. As you can see someone with a 4-1 record, but a slightly lower SOS can be ranked ahead of someone who is 3-1 with a higher SOS. LSU is so low because we are 2-1. After we put a few more games under our belt, we will move up like we should.
