1. He gone
  2. He won't be alone.
  3. meh they have plenty of RB
  4. Good move on his part. He can be a premier back elsewhere where here, buried on the depth chart.

  5. With Bradford and the walk-on Williams coming on the last few games. Assuming TDP and Emery stay and bringing in Kiner and Goodwin, it was a no brainer for him to transfer. I hope he has great success where ever he lands.
  6. Side thought related to this news.....being "awarded" the 18 jersey isn't much an award lately, is it? Maybe we should quit forcing this "honor" on players and just let them have their own identity. Ditto the 7.

  7. Agreed. Perhaps limited honors for a returning senior?

  8. You're right it shouldn't be a forced honor and it should be reserved for true football players. If there is not someone worthy of wearing it for a season, it should be hung up until there is. Of course, especially in today's game, there aren't a lot of Jacob Hester types in the world of football. And the sad thing is even if there were they probably wouldn't be able to have the same effect on a team because programs are now full of prima donnas, race baiters, and thugs that are unreachable.
  9. @CajunlostinCali @Kal-El012 I don't think we should be creating an honor out of the number at all. So a quarterback who game managed our offense to a NC that was really won by the defense "passed his number" down to a youngster he knew would be a good player. So? The idea of a number being given as an honor originated with Ole Miss, and that guy literally died at the end of his story. So we have to fabricate a tale of honor around a number? Gimme a break. And ditto the 7; the Giles kid was "awarded" that number before he ever played a down for LSU! All we've done with this 7 and 18 fiction is create unrealistic expectations on the players given those jerseys. No offense to Chris Curry or Damone Clark, but what did those guys ever do to warrant the expectations placed on them by wearing a certain f'n number? LSU has enough legitimate great traditions; we don't need to copy more from our lessers.

  10. I have a #7 jersey. They need to keep giving that out to the best player.
