For now it appears that the Mitchells are competing as the front-runners to nail down that third spot. Don’t be surprised, though, to see both of them on the field, along with Doucet and LaFell and maybe a fifth receiver as the season progresses.

“I’d rather have all five of them out there; that’s what I’m shooting for,” LSU receivers coach D.J. McCarthy said. “You go across the nation and there’s not going be a team that has four or five (cornerbacks) who can match up with our four or five receivers.

“In our offense, the more athletes we can get on the field, the more athletes the defense has to try to get on the field to match us. Otherwise, we’re in a situation where we’ve got mismatches because they’ve got linebackers on our speed guys.”

Crowton smiled when told of McCarthy’s desire, and said it could happen. .........................................................................................................:hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: If LSU goes to 5 receivers at anytime during a game there needs to be one of those hand cranked air raid sirens from WWII on the side lines screaming "air raid". The crowd would go nuts!
