tigerbait only has him co-recruiting one player and not any others so hopefully this won't hurt too bad.

This morning's Star Tribune only says that LSU has given the Vikings permission to speak to Dunbar.

Yeah but he had already landed some players like Tillman, who everyone is worried about even before losing Dunbar...

I have a different view of the situation. While it will hurt recruiting for him to leave, I would rather take the classy way out than waiting unitl you have a recruits signiture and then bam the coach is leaving. This is much more respectable. Be upfront with the recruits. If they wanna be a tiger than they will be a tiger, if they were coming here to play for Dunbar then we wouldn't want to have a top tear recruit be forced to honor his signature and be looking to transfer from day one.

Awww! I liked him! At Tiger Football 101 ( a clinic for Bengal Belles last July) he was soooo excited about being back home! He told us how glad he was to be back with LSU, the state, the food, and his family. He said how much he loved his mother-in-law. I sat in the Pelini's seats for a game and met Karl's wife and daughter. I told his wife."Oh he's sooo nice and he sure loves your mamma!" She leaned back and there was her mamma! So I told her how he had told all of us about her. I said we were so glad to have them back.
If he's leaving, it is probably for a better opportunity because we can all imagine how hard it would be to come back home and have to leave again.:laflagwav

PS... I told Bo before Christmas that I heard Coach Dunbar was being considered for (I forget which team it was at the time) and Bo said he hadn't heard that and where had I heard that. I said I was sure it was a rumor and all and I hoped I hadn't spilled any beans. I had previously told Bo that I heard that he (Bo) was going to Arkansas and asked if itwas true. Bo said it was the first he had heard about it and it would seem like he would know. So, the coaches must be used to the rumor mills.

I hope this is a rumor and if it is true, I agree that he wouldn't want to hurt recruiting and the timing of this announcement wasn't of his choosing and I also think it would be hard to choose LSU because you like a coach and then he up and leave. Either way it's a tough pill to swallow.

PSS Did I mess up by repeating that KD rumor to Bo? I was just trying to see if one of my favorite coaches was leaving. KD is so friendly, I bet the players just love him!:geauxtige

Great point of view Maderan!:thumb: It's all about the kids. Deceiving them would be unethical.

    Absolutely.

Although I don't believe the news leak nor timing is Dunbar's choice, the fact that it's out would mean that Dunbar would probably make a public statement in the next few days, if it's a done deal.
