Recruits might get upset if a coach he likes gets fired, but a coach that upgrades to an NFL job is just proof that LSU is a good program that sends head coaches, assistant coaches, and players to the NFL. A place where an ambitious player might want to go.

I wish he could have put the decision off for a couple of weeks. The timing could not have been worse.

Thanks for saying that and making me feel better about this whole thing. In fact, I guess none of us would be giving Pellini enough credit if we "doomed" our chances of landing any of the recruits Dunbar was recruiting....after all, the defensive players are still required to play under Pellini's system--not Karl Dunbar's. ....and Bo did manage to direct our defense to a #3 ranking...

It still amazes me how everyone was calling for Pelini's head after that Tennessee game.......only for our D to end up a respectable 3rd in the country! I'd like to see him stick around for a while.....:yelwink2: :geauxtige

I won't lie...I was pretty pissed off at Pelini after that Tennessee game. I'm ashamed and I'll admit it.

I'll even send him a Christmas card to patch things up between he and I (I'm SURE making me happy was his top priority and he'll feel SOOOO much better now knowing that I'm sorry)

No reason to be ashamed that you were pissed. If you wanted him fired, that's a different story...

Good point. Add to that, Miles has a history of not "settling" for assistants. I think he will make a thorough search for someone he feels can truely add to the program. I would hope that recruits will look at that history favorable also.

There are a lot of jobs that will be opening up for college coaches as the dust settles in the NFL hiring arena. I see that Saban's OC is the front runner for the Ram job. I don't think Saban would come after Fisher as he didn't take him last time, but other OC jobs may be opening. That said, I really don't see Jimbo as an NFL coach. Would Bo look at a DC job in the NFL, or is he intent on becoming a college HC? What position coaches at LSU, other than Dunbar, do you see with a NFL bent? The only coach I see at AU that could attract NFL attention is Borges, but he, like Jimbo, seem to be a college coach at heart. Not just at LSU, I see the potential of many coaching staffs being disrupted after signing day.
