1. I still read and respect Dandy Don's opinions. Sometimes I just wonder what he is talking about. Am I the only one that thinks that he is going downhill.

"Quarterbacks: Alabama quarterback Brodie Croyle is a senior and is very smart, but does not have great speed and can be affected by pressure. JaMarcus Russell is only a sophomore, but has a very strong arm and has gotten better as a scrambler, and because of the fact that he is from Alabama I give LSU a slight edge."

How do you give someone an edge when they are going back to their homestate that is less than a couple of hours away. I could maybe understand if JaMarcus was from Ohio and we won him in a huge recruiting battle and went up there to play the buckeyes. However, Bama was never in the picture for Russell. Brodie Croyle is from Alabama as well.

"Running Backs: With Joseph Addai not being 100 percent healthy and Justin Vincent and Shyrone Carey not having the kind of season expected of them, I give a slight edge to Alabama’s running backs Kenneth Darby and Aaron Jones. If Addai is back to 100 percent then the running back position is very close, but I give the advantage to Alabama."

I am glad that Dandy Don gives the edge to Bama because of backs like Aaron Jones. Aaron JOHNS has not played a snap this year and is 5th string.

I'm just asking for ole Dany Don to do a little homework next time and it will make me happy.

  2. My take is that he is referring to the motivation boost of JR returning home coupled with the desire to make a statement. Don't need to look too far in the past to understand what I am talking about....Tenn/Clausen. We sit next to an older man (at least 70) who has had his seats for nearly 40 years and is a major LSU fan and member of the Grid Iron club. All throughout the game before Clausen was put in this older gentleman and the crowd around us was going off on Clausen/Tenn practically begging that Clausen be put in the game. We sit directly behind the visitors bench on the 12 row. I joked to the ole man that we should be careful about what we ask for....we may get it. Even commented that one of two things would happen....Clausen would either have the game of his life or would be a total embarrasment. We all know how that turned out.

It's a competitive thing. I am sure JR is chomping at the bit to go home and really make a statement. I, too, consider that to give him the edge.
  3. Come on now...Don is a great guy and great Tiger fan and his site is a nice one to peruse, but you don't honestly use it as your main source of information do you? You have to take whatever information you get with a grain of salt. He's one who relies on others for his info and really doesn't confirm his sources or their information. Not to rehash bad memories but remember the whole Ratphuc Hobley incident. So enjoy Dandy Don and his unwavering love of the Tigers and just keep it in perspective.
  4. When was Dandy up hill?
  5. Now waaaaiiiiiit a minute..........
  6. In other news, 85 different LSU players "looked great" in practice today.
  7. If you've been reading Dandy quite a long time you should know he confuses names a lot, this is nothing new. He was referring to Jimmy Johns, a freshman that had a very good game last week rushing for 65 yards on 12 carries. Maybe you should have done a little homework too.
  8. Possibly.

Think about it. The home folks are the home folks. In any case, Don gave him the edge because he thinks Russell is a better quarterback than Croyle. Russell has a higher QB ranking and a higher completion percentage.

The other back leads the SEC in rushing, you know.
  9. True Diehard tiger fan he is... shakespeare of the internet blogs he is not...

he says the most assisine, blatant stuff regarding LSU...

sometimes its like im reading a 5th graders essays on "big time college football"
  10. I like his work and appreciate the effort he puts into his site. I don't "proofread" it and don't care about an error now and again. He is loyal to LSU and I think his intent is always to be fair to the players. One could say a lot worse things about a man.
