Anyone know if this is a package deal for Les or whether RP will come w/o Dauterive. I was talking to a friend of mine from BR today and he says it smacks of the Booty situation. Can anyone shed light on this for me ?

I heard the same thing. Don't know if it is totally true, but a lot of people have been talking about it. RP would fit well in Miles system. Miles could be a huge reason why RP will come to LSU.

If we hire Dauterive and RP comes, I will be upset. It just doens't sit right with me.

I can't answer that question, but was thinking the exact same thing. There are so many issues that point to the Miles hiring.

1. Known to be a good recruiter: Was he hired b/c of a couple of recruits jumping ship? Maybe Skip thinks Miles can salvage this year's class

2. Connections with RP an Dauterive: Was this hiring our best chance to land RP?

3. Miles being in a very simular situation that NS was in 5 years ago at Mich St. Another words, Miles was playing second fiddle to OU. Did Skip look at this and pull the trigger hoping this will turn out like NS?

Don't get me wrong, I am excited to see Les Miles as the Tigers HC. I am a true :lsug: fan who will support the administration in whatever they do. We have to give Miles a chance. He has not coached one game for us yet. Let's show him the support and get ready for our championship run next season!!

Dauterive is not an LSU guy.

No, but from what I've always heard about him, Dauterive WANTS to be an LSU guy (i.e., assistant coach). Looks like he's found his ticket.

I have always hated adults that ride "kids" coat tails... looks like he is just trying to cash in on an impressionable young mans talent.

I'm not saying it won't happen, but where was it published that Miles was bringing in Dauterive? Beyond that, how do we even know Miles knows Larry?
