1. I don't think it should tell me that at all. Perhaps he isn't ready for a DC job at that level just yet. I don't know how the whole coaching thing goes as far as where you "need" to cut your teeth.

I tend to lean towards thinking if you can do the job you can do the job but that's just me.

  2. Raymond is 51 years old. If he isn't ready by now he will never be.
  3. It’s been said he isn’t too interested. I don’t know about all that, but I don’t want him cutting his teeth at LSU. I’d support giving him a bigger role here, but not DC.

  5. My take on CR is that he is a magnet for keeping our secondary at an elite level (excluding this yr.). If moving him to a DC role that he is not ready for hurts the secondary its not worth it. If he is happy as our secondary guru then he should stay there and be rewarded for it. With the new offensive wrinkles we are seeing it is helpful that we have guys who can man up on a receiver and keep the front concentrating on the run and getting to the QB. We are one of a handful of schools that have that advantage, lets not mess it up.

I know. Hire Chavis as CRs 3rd down specialist assistant.

  9. Agree with all this. My concern about Raymond is simply keeping him on staff and happy, while improving the program. Whatever that takes.

Note: Aranda resigned on Jan 16 last year (a leap year so 365+1).
