    Krypto Huh?

Anyone know what is going on with my Deano's in BR? They were supposed to be building a new one down Perkins, but now i hear that the one near campus is closing.

I suspect it can not compete with Mellow Mushroom and the reason why being that the pizza just is not that good.

Odd considering that Deano's pizza was voted as one of the 2 best pizza's in the city with Fleur de Lis. Personally i am not a major fan of the the Mushroom's pizzas. They are not bad, just not my favorite place to eat pizza.

If its the same as Deano's in Lafayette, and they have the Marie Laveaux pizza, you have to try it. It's my favorite when we go to Lafayette. Crabmeat and mushroom pizza with lots of cheese, ummmmmmm ummmmmm good!

Yeah it is the same. They opened a Baton Rouge branch maybe 1.5 years ago. I grew up on that place in Lafayette. It was good to see them open a place in BR.

I worked at the Deano's in Lafayette in high school but was already gone from BR by the time that location opened. Some people really like the crust but the thing that makes Deano's different are the cajun/seafood toppings. We always hated when someone ordered the sampler (4 different creations) but that's what I usually get now. Something like the T-Rex / Marie Leveaux / Executioner / Pizza of the Month (if it's a good choice that month). Some of my friends prefer non-pizza items like crawfish nachos, pastas, lasasna, etc.

My wife only likes pep on pizzas and my favorites are Pastime (in BR) or Star Pizza (in Houston) if I'm forced to go with this choice.
