Decency has been disappearing since I can recall. I remember visiting relatives or other folks on Sundays. Everyone had screen doors back then, no AC at all that I remember but no one bothered to close their doors when gone. You could open a screen door and walk into anyone’s house if you wanted. I’m sure there are folks on here from the same generation, we have watched decency die over the decades. Now we are in a mess as a country because of a lack of it.
