If Kevin Tolliver is our weak point in the secondary, we really don't have much to complain about. White and Adams are big time play makers. Seems like they are making a lot of play our linebackers should be making. I am not a big fan of Duke Riley either.
Both Tolliver and Jackson have a long way to go. Both have serious potential, but both seem lost at times.
That's been a staple of LSU defenses for as long as I can remember. I've lost count of the number of times I have yelled at the TV or in the Stadium for our DB's to look back for the damn ball.
Slow down guys Aranda has only been at LSU for 8 months. Give the man a chance to develop these guys and get them to totally understand his system. We held a QB with great speed to hardly any yards. I believe Aranda will be one of our better DC ever when it's all said and done.

No one is saying that the defense didn't play well as a whole, in fact they played pretty damn good for the most part. However way too much praise has been aimed at the play of Tolliver and Jackson. As the DL faces better OL their play will need to improve or they're going to give up a ton of receiving yards.
Very true. Tolliver seems to be sticking with his man but his play on the football with the ball in the air is lacking severely. And Jackson doesn't seem to cover that well but has excellent ball skills. If we could morph the 2 into 1 player that dude would be pretty damn good. The 3-4 has a lot of moving pieces. There is far more responsibility for the corners and safeties in the 3-4. These 2 need to get better if this defense is going to stop people from moving the ball, but at the same time we need our linemen to eat up blockers, our linebackers to pressure the QB and cover the correct routes as well. It hasn't been a disaster and it's been pretty good so far but again, we haven't really seen them tested yet like you said.
