by Clay Travis came out last week at the bookstores. It's about Clay's travels last year through the entire SEC in an SUV (over 8,000 miles). He went to a game at every SEC venue last year. He was at the LSU/Kentucky game and at Auburn at the LSU game there.

It is probably the greatest football book ever written. Clay is a rabid Tennessee fan and lives in Tennessee.

As anyone knows who has the slightest knowledge of college football....the SEC is hands down the greatest and most exciting conference in America.
It's not even debatable. That being said he forces himself to rate from last to first the greatest SEC places to go to a college football game. This includes him taking into consideration the towns, fans, tailgating, food, football (duh), etc.

In the list he gives a brief synopsis why he rated the SEC teams where they are.

Here's his list from last to first:

    12. Vanderbilt
    11. Mississippi State
    10. Kentucky
    9. South Carolina
    8. Arkansas
    7. Alabama
    6. Florida (and he HATES Florida)
    5. Ole Miss
    4. Auburn
    3. Georgia
    2. Tennessee
    1. LSU (get the book and read what he says about LSU)

That being said it's safe to say that the single greatest college football experience in the nation takes place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at night.

Started reading this last night -- great read. Very easy-going style, lots of little barbs at various teams/coaches (MSU is taking a lot of the jokes so far :)). Don't know about it being the "greatest football book ever written", but still really fun.

just finished this book. an excellent read, although i did get tired of his repeated "Bama Bangs" references. it definitely added to my already intense anticipation for the season. and i have to say, the golden girl he takes a picture with is especially tasty looking.

While the tasty golden girl doesn't interest me much:lol: . I am still wondering if I should really start to read this book now or wait till the season has actually started so I can keep my anticipation down to a low roar! Nah screw it, going to the bookstore in 25 minutes!
