1. It's not possible for members of the same conference to be in the NC game, right?
  2. It is possible but very unlikely.
  3. I thought there was some rule agaist it. Wow. Wouldn't that be neat. AU vs. UGA in the national championship. I know the SEC championship game would make that all but impossible. But it does delight the imagination. Has it ever happened before?
  4. AU v. UGA wouldn't happen though because both play each other in the regular season and then in the SECCG if both were undefeated before the first game

What would need to happen is if TX lost to OU yet neither lost another game (yet OU makes it to the CG and wins v. a team from the North division) and TX destroys everyone and finishes #2
  5. I am thinking this would have to happen in a conference that has no conference championship.....see PAC-10....oh wait the PAC-10 is too weak to send anyone to a LEGITIMATE FAIRLY PREDETERMINED NC game.......(yes I am STILL bitter about USC....so what!)

    Yeah, it's impossible...

On a side note, is anyone waiting for one of these trendy "BCS Buster" teams to actually go undefeated, get placed in a NC and just get freakin annihilated by whoever they play? I was talkin to a friend of mine today about it....like if West Virginia went undefeated and USC lost to Cal and it ended up being West Virginia v Miami or OU in the Orange Bowl....how stupid would that be?
  6. west virginia lost.
  7. I know....I was being hypothetical....as in if Fresno State would go undefeated :thumb:
  8. Personally, (I'm gonna get lynched for saying this) I think that Tulane should've gone at least to a BCS bowl in 98, when they went 12-0. Granted, they didn't play anyone good but USM and Louisville, but still. It's an undefeated season. I was there for the Liberty bowl. The tulane fans looked like they were dreaming. heh. Maybe they were. That's why I hate Tommy Bowden.
  9. The only scenario where I could see that actually happening would be 2 teams from a conference that didn't have a conference championship game. The Big 10 (11) or the FudgePac 10. Say that both Michigan and Purdue would both be unbeaten and wouldn't have played each other that year. It could happen.
  10. Or even the Big 12. Last year, OU lost its Conference championship game and still went. So...........maybe.
