USC didn't win the NC in 2003. We did and we have the crystal football to prove it. USC was voted #1 by the AP writers at the conclusion of the 2003 season. The only 3 peat USC is shooting for is three consecutive AP final #1 rankings. In my mind, we won the 2003 NC on the field and the same can be said for USC last year. I hope we meet them in the Rose Bowl next January to break the tie.

I think some people expect LSU to be mentioned with every breath about any national championship. Unfortunately, being in a tiny media market and having only won 1, we still have a little ways to go to be a media favorite...

    1958 + 2003 = 2 National Championships

Robidoux87 You call that a double?

If you think that USC wasn't jealous of us playing in the final game of the year and getting the trophy and the big ceremony, you're wrong.

OU had no business being in that game. None.

I'm sure their intentions aren't to overlook LSU's national title when they mention USC possibly 3-peating. If it were LSU in the position, they would be saying the exact same thing. LSU gets plenty of respect, trust me.

I agree. It's time to stop bitching (and I've done my share). We're getting lots of love preseason. Time to load up the flask and hunker down!!!

Its just funny that when USC is mentioned they are repeat national champs.. when LSU is mentioned, they are the 2003 BCS National Champs.. Like the BCS one is crap and the AP is the REAL championship. I say give USC all of the 3 peat articles they want, as long as the article says "3-Peat AP National Champs."

Re: LSU was poorly prepared for that game at UGA.....

    No doubt.

The SEC doesn't even give LSU any respect after picking Tennessee to win the SEC and snubbing LSU for the title. What makes this SEC East bias all the more obvious is LSU's obvious talent advantage (recruiting advantage) over any other SEC team this decade after #1 recruiting classes in 2001 & 2003. No other SEC school comes close in talent but that didn't stop the SEC EAST COAST biased homers. Sad thing is that there will be repercussions for LSU. The AP preseason poll will now likely feature Tennessee well above LSU and probably place LSU at #5-8, with Tennessee #2-3. LSU will win in their home game against Tennessee. But likely, some other schools will be wedged in between LSU & USC for quite some time. Miles doesn't have any time in his early games after the AP disses LSU & they will. Miles will have to stomp teams early & by huge margins, including winning handily against Tenn. That will wake up the media & overcome the bias against LSU. The only way to do this is with a tremendous passing attack that is developed & fine tuned early (NT, ASU). LSU won't fare well by conservative play & running against Tenn. LSU's great hopes in 2005 (SECCG & NC) lie with tremendous improvement in its passing attack. LSU must throw 40 passes per game early, make the big plays, keep turnovers at a minimum & run up scores against opponents. That way, Miles makes his statement & LSU will get the respect it deserves.
