Shannon Terry did sell Rivals.com to Yahoo sports division, then created 247sports. However, he built a chicken shack down the street from Rivals.com, after his
termination "Parting of Visions". Then and last year, several calls were placed to speak with Mr. Shannon Terry at Rival.com headquarters, the callers were asked: "Can I take a message for Mr. Terry?" Odd huh? It's no secret around Rivals.com.
Well Terry, LSU played #3 Oregon to open the season & later #16 West Virginia. We played #12 Georgia to win the SEC. Then LSU played #2 Alabama at Alabama, a game called the "Game of the Century, LSU won.
Here's the
3 "Soft games" LSU played:
Kentucky
Western Kentucky
Northwestern State
Here are the
4 "Soft games" Bama played, not gonna mention hapless Tennessee, but won't:
Vanderbilt
Kent State
North Texas
Georgia Southern
Here are the 4 actual ranked teams you played:
*Preseason ranked Penn State #23
Arkansas #14
Florida #12
LSU #1 (Bama Loss)
So you don't see how Bama's 2011 "Mighty" Defense finished a few decimal places higher than LSU's did?? Very sad that Bama got into the Big game with 3 wins over ranked opponents, and then to try to talk about how great your Defense was is damn embarrassing, IMO.
The only 1 stat that counts in Total Defense is yards allowed per play:
Bama 3.32
LSU 4.08

Again, LSU played 4 ranked teams more, and the difference is
.76 per play.
LSU played in 14 games in 2011, went 13-1, Bama played in 13 games went 12-1.
