Potential early draft entrants: QB JaMarcus Russell, DT Glenn Dorsey, LB Ali Highsmith.
Outlook: The 6-foot-6, rocket-armed Russell is coveted by NFL types, particularly after a tremendous junior season (68.5 percent completions, 26 TDs, 7 INTs). Expect him to come out and be no lower than a top-15 pick. Ditto for the athletically gifted Dorsey, a first team All-America in his first year as a starter. Highsmith would be a surprise to come out.
Impact: Russell hasn't always been a popular figure in Baton Rouge. If he enters the draft, his critics will finally get their wish to see Matt Flynn or Ryan Perriloux running the Tigers' offense. Dorsey's defection would hurt, but LSU will be bringing back seven other defensive starters and has recruited well on that side of the ball.
