    not sure why lsu embraced o so fully after his disastrous reign at ole miss. would never have hired him

    Quite a few fans believe O should not have even been considered for the job. Some, however, still think O can turn things around.

    Usually when my gut talks me this much I have to take medication for it. I better stock up!!!

    At least LSU isn't paying top dollar for him. O is the lowest paid coach in the SEC west.

    Maybe because experience often matters?

    A LOT of fans bought into the hometown boy hype train. A friend of mine who has been in and around athletics his whole life, who definitely knew better, loved the hire and completely bought into the "who else could we have gotten" narrative. He texted me the day of the hire asking what I thought. My exact response to him was "God help us."

    As is often the case, big decisions made by the heart instead of the head end up disastrous.
