We have a basketball team that is on the verge of possibly doing something big, and almost all LSU fans are worried about spring football?? Kinda makes us worry about priorities huh? We complain about basketball in BR being a JV sport, but stuff like this shows that no one is doing anything to change it
What are you talking about? There are basketball, baseball, football and even freaking gymnastics threads (hell, some girl got a 10 in something, which is apparently a great accomplishment, so good for her!) It shouldn't all be about JB and the Boys! Not everybody likes all sports. Of course we're into spring practice. THIS IS LSU, not some freaking garbage school like St. Joseph's or Niagara or Old Dominion, who's only hope of national prominence is getting lucky in a couple games against kids not good enough to play in the NBA! Now, anybody have any news on Spring Practice? WHEN THEY PUT THE BALL DOWN, THEY'RE GOING TO FRIGGIN' PLAY!

I'd like to see more pub for the other sports that are actually playing right now, but you have to understand your in a football town. Also, I dont think thats a fair statement b/c since the Tigers have been winning, there has been a lot of talk about this team. So I think that thread was off base. This is football city man.
Back when I was in school basketball was the deal during this time of year. The teams were consistanly in the NCAA tournament and was the town buzz. Once we are hitting the NCAA's regularly it will come back. It was nothing to see 10,000 fans at every game. I myself could care less about spring drills. Football doesn't matter to me until Sept 3rd.
Well I feel the same way, but the truth is that basketball is third string to football and baseball. People will follow who is winning. I understand why interest would be in football right now over basketball. Well, not this time of year, but I mean why people are much more interested in football then basketball overall. I'm like you, spring football practice is nothing. It's about what happens in august-january. This is just basically working out. Also, your not going to get much different out of spring practice then what you saw in January. It's what you'll get 5 months from now is when you'll see a difference. But, I know that there are plenty of die hards who love the football spring practice and just love football in genenral. There is nothing wrong with that. Different fans put there ut most loyalty to different sports. But, I will look forward to the spring game though.
People could watch the games vs Auburn and Arizona St. The public rellies on the media and people like Dandydon for information on the Spring practices. You could watch the game or look on the internet for a simple who won the game, but you go to NOLA or Dandydon etc. for articles on Spring practice. IMO that's the reason that it got the nod above the other sports information.
