1. my reply:

    SUBJECT: Great Article...

BODY: ...But we didn't wait our whole lives for LSU to win the National Title only to see some soft schedule, no defense Pac-10 team to try and claim half of it, and the crystal trophy that is sitting in the football complex a few miles away agrees with us.
  2. Yes, we complain because we are...greedy?:dis:

    What a ****ing tool.
  3. I think my favorite quote from the article is this one:

Learn to be original, get a job doing something other than writing for a website, and maybe we'll care what you have to say.
  4. photo caption from article:

"Pete Carroll and USC have the trophy to prove they shared the 2003 title."

they have "a" trophy. not "the" trophy.

if they shared the title they would have half a crystal football trophy.
  5. LSU fans are "greedy", yet USC fans, including the national media, were trying to convince themselves that they were going for a 3-peat when, in fact, they had not yet had a re-peat.

    Worthy of rep points :thumb:
  6. It took some time but now I am over it. "It" stands for this whole debate. We won the crystal ball. We are displaying it. We know it. That is what matters. Media is always going to fight for USC as they voted them #1. By agreeing to our point will invalidate their poll. I just hope (Hope is always a good thing) that some day we will have play-offs and there will always be one and only one true champion (who ever it is).
  7. They made it themselves, I suppose. Or may its the leetle-bitty "#1 in the AP poll" trophy. I'll never let Southern California off the hook for claiming a title they didn't earn!

    1. The BCS crystal football is awarded each year to the acknowledged BCS champion. The crystal football for the 2003 season lives permanently in Baton Rouge.

    2. The MacArthur Trophy, which has been awarded to the acknowledged NCAA national champion since the 1950's, travels to the new winner each year. The trophy spent 2004 in Baton Rouge.

    4. Being #1 in a media poll doesn't make one a national champion when a National Championship Game is being played and your team didn't even qualify for it.

    5. Southern California was #1 in two of the eleven polls and rankings used to determine the BCS championship. LSU was #1 in nine!

  8. Great post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
