I am not sure if anyone has seen this already, but on ESPN coming up next they will talk about next years contenders.

OU's out because they lose so many starters, Ohio St is most likely out because I think they'll be facing a lot of NCAA sanctions.

I like Texas, if they turn up a good running back they've got the talent to go unbeaten next year and Mac proved he actually can win big games which will go far against a much weaker OU.

Virginia Tech I also like, and Michigan should be very strong as well but I see a loss on their schedule somewhere along the way.

I'm not sure why they like Florida so much and not LSU. My guess is because their hire was more high-profile. I like Florida and Tennessee to contend for the SEC East next year and LSU probably winning the West but coming close to letting Alabama have it.

Let's face it, Les Miles is not the big name we were hoping for and right now we are uncertain about his & his staff's abilities. I have confidence our team will do well next year, but I understand the media's hesitation.

Unlike the media, I have no hesitation: LSU will contend this year.

I am glad LSU will come flying in under the Radar again, its time for someone else to have that huge target on their backs....

    The future is bright

I have always been one to say that preseason opinions mean squat, but as we saw this year regarding USC, OU, and Auburn they can make a difference. I'm confident in the Tigers, but the fact is if you are not ranked in the Top 5 preseason, you have to hope for a lot of people to lose to make much headway. I for one am in favor of banning all polls until October, but that isn't likely to happen.

BTW, I really hate to admit it, but USC looked very, very good last night. Was OU that bad?

Yea Burleson, you're right on with banning the polls. It just won't happen, b/c people love lists of everything, even if they mean nothing.

There's nothing we can do about our preseason ranking, so LSU will just have to climb their way up by winning game after game. LET ER RIP!
