its a valid point, but i think we should all have them or none should. USC tricks most viewers by always scheduling there UCLA game on conference championship weekend.
I think if you have 10 or more teams in the conference you should have a CG. I think that would include all the BCS conferences and if you don't win your conference game you cannot play for the NC.
The NCAA requires at least 12 teams to have a championship game. Doubt that will be changed. The Big 10/11 will eventually come around to adding a 12th team and a CCG. Those Pac 10 idiots will resist doing so...
By the way, does anyone else think the divisions should be broken and the 2 best teams should just play? I know it would cause schedule problems, but Texas isn't playing the 2nd best team in their game, we aren't playing the 2nd best team in our game, and Va Tech isn't in their game... I think we should just line em up, and the 2 best teams record-wise should play... To avoid more Texas/Colorado matchups
There is some truth to it. Title games do hurt big time if the higher ranked team loses. What he fails to mention is that at the very least we have a definitive CHAMPION in the conference, unlike the national picture where they may be controversy.
And its easier then they all think.... Big 10 could add Pitt or ND (ND should have to be in a conference if they want BCS money, if they stay out then they have to go undefeated) or Big 10 could add lowa St., and Big 12 could add TCU. Pac 10 could simply add Utah, BYU, Fresno State, New Mexico (choose 2).
BYU has good teams usually, its just hard to get and keep talent at a Mormon school b/c to graduate you have to go abroad and do Moron preaching stuff for a year (even football players)
