It would be cheap and easy to put a sensor in the football to determine accurate down position and crossing the goal line. But it won't tell if a player has a knee down or is juggling the ball. Video replay from multiple angles is still best for that.

But this business of not overturning a call on the field without "indisuputable" evidence is booooolshit. All evidence is disputable, the replay official should make his best call based on having more time, multiple camera angles, and less pressure on him than game officials.

    LaSalleAve when in doubt, mumble

You could still use a combination of camera angles along with the goal line technology like they have in hockey and that would eliminate most of these bad calls.

The views of his knees were crystal clear in one view. They only showed that view once. That view showed the ball striking the ground at the same time his knees hit the ground. The ball crossed the plane before it hit the ground. Textbook example of indisputable evidence.

Who gives a shit about the "bad call"? It should have never been close. Miles and Chavis screwed the pooch, the officials had a much better game than both of them. Neither Miles nor Chavis deserved a W. Hopefully every DC candidate Miles interviews asks about the QB position.

Answer: Only those that can't see that one call wasn't LSUs problem in the game.

To piggyback this, they actually showed an "in sync" view where the split-screened the goal line view and the view where his knee wasn't down... I wondered why they didn't use that in the booth... Horrible call...

There is no doubt he scored. That took away 7 points. Notre Dame won by 3. Even though LSU played poorly, especially on defense, if everything had played out the same LSU would have won the game. That's a pretty big problem I'd say..
