i'll start this off by saying i'm a pessimistic fellow. it's a lot easier to expect the worst because you're just that much happier when the best happens. :thumb: when i left the south carolina game i looked at my buddy and said "you know what sucks about playing spurrier so early? he exposed our defense." i still believe this. we have not changed our defense scheme in the least these past four weeks. we have linebackers constantly covering receivers, backs, and tight-ends. spurrier exposed that in the fourth quarter. with highsmith and beckwith running around in man coverage, who is there to back up our line? we have yet to go with a dime package. i know this sounds like video game stuff, but you fight fire with fire. now that jackson is hurt (if anyone has info on that please post it) we have to rely on eugene to be the second corner when he has almost no experience. what would've helped him get experience? a dime package. on offense we still don't know when early is coming back. we need him like hell next week, but might not get him. with him out, our receivers still aren't any better. we frickin put mcmanus in as a wr during overtime... yes, a walk-on was in the game. that's how bad our receivers are. (it could have been steffon francois, but that underscores how bad we are even more) matt flynn is not playing the best, yes. but our receivers are having balls hit their hands and their chests and they still aren't pulling them in. i don't care what your opinion of flynn is, it is not his job to catch the ball, it's his job to make it catchable. plenty of his throws were bad, but most were catchable. with running backs... well that's just a clusterfrick but i really don't think it's that big a deal. the fact is the problems that lost this game, as everyone has said, have been here the best four weeks. putting rp in will not solve the receivers' problems. losing jackson for next week will be disastrous. early staying out will continue to be a huge problem. defensive scheme will as well. so the point is that i don't see any of this changing. maybe someone has information that i don't, but i don't see how any of this can be changed. i hate to admit it, but friday i changed my prediction of an lsu win to a uk win. today, at this point in time, i'm predicting an auburn win. i truly to hate to say it, i like miles a lot, i like pellini a lot, but i think we're past that point of fixing these problems. please prove me wrong lsu.
I'm so tired of reading trash like this. Where were you when we were 6-0??? All yall who are posting this Armageddon junk are not true fans. Stop your whining. Ok, so maybe we don't go to the BCS Championship game. Whatever. Are we going to lose the rest of our games? No. Is it realistic to think were going to lose more than one more game? No. We MAYBE have one more loss, and even then we'll still end up in the top 5 at the end of the year. Stop crying. You're all starting to sound like Boston Red Sox fans. "Whoa is me. We're good, but not good enough". Come back after our next win or do us a favor and don't come back at all.
 no i don't have a ticket, and i'll take one if offered but i don't think i can go to this game. i've got my daughter and as much as i like to think she's a little tiger fan, she wouldn't be able to go to that game. so i don't need a ticket so much as i need a babysitter. nice post though.
look man, you clearly didn't read my post to the end. if you truly think the problems that got us beat on saturday haven't been there since south carolina then i throw your question back at you – where have you been? i know i'm being pessimistic, but look at the points i made. you think we'll be able to switch to a more aggressive defense if jai eugene is our second corner? nope. that would be too risky. you think if early doesn't come back that our passing game will get better? nope. clearly it won't because it hasn't since he's been out. that's all i'm saying. i want to believe things will be changed, but i don't think they can be.
i wanted to edit my post to add this, but it wouldn't work and it has to be said. i've been a tiger fan as long as i can remember. i can remember parking in the grass by the vet school on the levee and tailgating there - something not allowed anymore. i've been going to games for twenty years now and hopefully i will never stop. don't question somebody's loyalty just because they notice that there are big areas of concern.
After rereading both our posts, I admit I was a little harsh. Really, I'm sorry. I understand what you mean about the DB's. I understand what you mean about the WR's. They're both areas of concern. We're vulnerable over the middle on the defensive side of the passing game. Our most sure handed Receiver is Dickson. The coaches need to fix that. And I'll even add on an extra beef with the team right now. Penalties. They're killing us. If we all took a shot every time they committed one we'd be drunk by the end of the first quarter. I live in Cleveland though, so you'll have to understand why I'm a little over sensitive to pessimistic fans. All they do up here is cry about how they can't win a championship. Even when the Cavs were on their way to the Finals all they were doing was saying how it wasn't going to last. I have friends who weren't even alive for The Drive or The Fumble and yet still complain about it. Sorry again. We're all Tiger fans, and we all pull for the same team. And we all get a upset about a loss. My bad.
Aw man you were doing so well. http://www.wisc-online.com/objects/index_tj.asp?objID=WCN5202 Just messing with ya.
it's cool man, i understand. that's why i prefaced it with i'm pessimistic. it's a poor boy's way of staying sane  i was really hoping that somebody would counter those points with gleams of hope. but man... seriously what are we going to do on defense if jackson is out!? what are we gonna do if early doesn't come back!?
