Gosh, I wonder what you think about Vanderbilt's team and season? I guess if we win out and end up winning the NC you will start out your thread by saying "Well, they only won because......."
i don't know what the hell vanderbilt has to do with this. as somebody else said, my points are valid but the title is a bit sensationalized. if that's my one mistake i'm fine with that, i should've put a question mark behind it. but you're basically right. if we win out i will definitely be saying something close to what you described. it will probably be "we won out because early came back and took pressure off the receivers." can't say that now because who knows when he'll back. or it might be "we won out because the defense changed their scheme a bit and gave the linebackers a break." ya know, something that i made a point about in my original post. i understand you guys trying to put down the pessimism, that's what we need to do. but don't try and put it down by discounting the points i made by not even addressing them.
I agree and they can fix it by lining him up in the slot more often and getting the ball to him. Don't reinvent the wheel, roll with what you've got. Jai Eugen isn't a bad player he is just very inexperienced at a position where mistakes are usually exposed by someone running past you into the endzone. He will be a good corner b4 he leaves LSU. Trouble is, why don't we have someone with a little more experience other than Jai backing up Chevis ?
for all of you bashing me for my "negativity" i'd like to point out two things. 1. i said i hoped lsu would prove me wrong. (i just don't see what options we have right now as long as doucet and jackson aren't in the line up) 2. quotes from that other board in response to miles's press conference that [obviously] have to be redacted a bit: on miles saying that kentucky made adjustments that took away the run. now i only do this because i like this board. i post more on this board because this board generally has a good sense of humor, is more open minded and is more open to dialog. you guys can criticize my pessimism as much as you like, but at least we aren't like that.
haha yeah, maybe when i get rid of some student debt i'll make then venerated contributor status and then maybe... just maybe... i'll make godfather status.
It is not in the nature of any team to play perfectly or to really live up to the exacting standards of their fans. That's why we have coaches the whole year long. If the players didn't need adjustments, the coaches could go home in August. Things that worked yesterday may not work tomorrow, and so on. Many similar complaints were voiced after the MSU game, and the coaches came back, and the players responded. Pessimism is a valid emotion, but I will take optimism every day and twice on Sundays. It's not about the issues raised, which are valid, but rather the conclusion that is drawn, especially from the thread title. Regardless if people bother to click on the thread or not, they all certainly see the title sitting at the top of this forum. Opponents love it when the fans seem to be down on their team after a tough loss. The thread title certainly implies that you are.
yeah i understand that dude. i admit it was sensationalized, but in my head this is pretty sensational. i truly believe we are on the verge of falling apart because like i said, what can we do about this? the only thing that i see is fixable is the dropped balls. if jackson and doucet stay out next week i think we can all agree our chances of winning go down immensely. defensive scheme isn't fixable if jackson stays out. miles did say it doesn't appear that anybody will be out for next week, but we know miles and injuries. ok, i'll get back to work now. thanks everybody
