I think we pay a few guys, millions of $/year to answer that very question. I think they are up to the task.

I think dropped balls were a big part of our problem but do not agree that it is the only thing we can fix. The defense will step up huge in this game and so will Coach P.

I get how you are feeling, and I can't say I didn't feel like this last year after the Auburn loss, when I thought for sure we threw away our national title hopes. Turns out we threw it away after the Florida game, but that is beside the point. I am a diehard fan of LSU and have endured 35 years of classic underachievement by our teams, so perhaps I am just a bit more exprienced at handling the losses. Maybe Irish whiskey works on me better today than it did in my twenties, who knows?

Keep your head up man. The players need our support and faith when things hit the fan, as well as when things are smooth. Perhaps we fans don't have the answers to how to fix all these things because we are just fans, and not high paid coaches. I think we have a bit more going for us than just luck, and I'll bet if you look hard in the mirror, you will find that you feel very similar.

Okay, everyone cheered up now??

Amazing how all these years of missed opportunities have leveled me out too. But I still contend that this season is still not lost.

Our situation has not changed since Friday.... we have to win the next 7 games we play and I think we get another crystal trophy. Yes, we need a little help but I think it is entirely realistic to expect to play in the MNC game if we run the table through December.

yeah snarl and dude, i'm a fan of 20 years and it still gets to me.

i remember during the florida game a flag came on a big play and i of course got all pissed. the guy sitting next to me said "come on, it's lsu. what did you expect."

later on a bogus penalty was called on us and again the guy looked at me and said the same thing.

i don't know what i can expect from this team but i don't feel it's bad to expect perfection. i expect it from myself every time i make a design, or set trot lines or any of the things i do.

but even though the coaches are paid millions that doesn't mean we have many options. when you gotta put walk-ons in at receiver... well things are bad.

let's see if i can find a baby sitter and a ticket for the auburn game. we all know lsu doesn't lose when i'm in the stadium.

Well, a late lunch and this is the first thread I read. My two cents – we are not falling apart and will not fall apart.

    • The sky is not falling and frankly is not going to fall regardless of what happens with this team.
    • This team may have more heart and play with more emotion and more team sprit than any LSU team I recall – I have listened to games since the 1950’s and my first LSU game in Tiger Stadium was the Kentucky game in 1955 – I think; I have been there to see them play Nebraska, USC, Colorado, California, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Miami, Texas A & M and all the SEC schools among many others – so I have a little history here. Seeing Charles Scott on his knees with tears in his eyes after not making that final first down really brought it home to me – these players are giving it their all to win for the team.
    • We are fans and complaining is part of the deal especially for those of us who have been LSU fans through the Hallman/Dinardo nightmare years (I really fear that the last memory I will have before I pass on to the next life is the damn purple pants that Dinardo introduced in Lexington).
    • The one issue that worries me more than any other about the current team is the penalty problem – but that seems to be a recurring problem for most teams from time to time.
    • Our remaining games are against Auburn (just did beat a poor Arkansas team by 3 points); Alabama (beat, but almost lost to a bad Ole Miss team); a poor Ole Miss team that may be having real internal problems; an Arkansas team that is having internal team problems; and La Tech. So running the table is more probable than not. I admit I always worry about Auburn because that has developed into a rivalry and this year I worry about Alabama because of the emotion of the game in Tuscaloosa being Saban’s first against LSU after returning to the SEC.
    • The Dude, as usual, is correct – our coaches are very capable and proven.
    • These players and coaches will give their all to win for LSU and we should be cheering them on – win or not.
    • Finally, in this day and age of scholarship limits, very restrictive game management and play rules and 24/7 media coverage, there is finally parity in college football – if a South Florida or Boise State or University of Utah can make a legitimate run at the championship or end up in a BCS Bowl, don’t tell me we don’t have parity.
Oh hell, I missed lunch again. Well gotta go back to work. Take heart - the Tigers are going to win and have a fine season.
