1. There was a little Croom show tonight that showed the game in a quick fashion...

I really wasn't wowed by Florida's offense or defense..... Florida got 4 points off State's QB not getting rid of the ball in the endzone for two safeties (one was intentional grounding). MSU muffed a punt inside their 20, and gave Florida another 7 points. MSU missed a field goal at the end of the half.

Florida gives up the big play easily.... One broken tackle and it seems like a 20 run automatically...

Florida's special teams are similar to LSU's... Lots of good punts..

I see Addai making a few big plays against Florida. After watching Florida for the past few games I am very confident in our Tigers...

  2. I know you're in the band and all, but did you happen to catch Joseph Addai's performance last year vs. the Gators in the swamp?

  3. Didn't he nearly get 100 yards in that game? I don't think he scored, but from what I remember he was the "go-to" RB in that game with Broussard not doing as well as he had been all season...

I don't go by previous matchups anyway... Doing that is a bad way to predict performances... I'll just throw out a name.... any random name.... say.... 2003 Justin Vincent vs. 2004 JV...
  4. Joe Addai scored the winning touchdown in the Florida game in 2004. It was a little screen pass or a pass in the flat if I remember correctly.
  5. Joe Addai was a one man wrecking crew last year! The last LSU scoring drive covered around 56 yards and Addai had 52. Biggest reason LSU won the game!!
  6. Beg your pardon, LSU started at Midfield. Addai right for 16, Davis catch for 7, Addai middle for 12, Addai right for 6, Addai catch for 10.....Touch!!!
51 yard drive. Addai for 44! He is the best football player we have on this team last year as well as this year!!!
  7. Their front 7 are good. Big, fast, aggressive, and active. Their DBs seem to be a step slow imo. Norwood outran all of them on a 75yrd run, without a good angle. They've also been beaten deep on runs like that a few other times. I think there is a significant opportunity to break some deep throws out in this game. At the very least, running some deep routes will keep their safeties back where they can't support the run that well.

If we mix our deep and intermediate routes properly (both wrs and tes crossing the middle, along with rbs out of the backfield), we can take their safeties and a couple of lbs out of immediate run support. That'll help us run the ball on a pretty good DL. If we keep doing it, it'll force them to respect the run and bring them up closer, or we can use play actions to get some in between-zone passes.
