1. Unless JR has some majic in him that creates poise after his injury. then I would be very suprised if FLynn didn't start at least a game or two.

One reason possibly that MILES didn't start Flynn all along is that "game" and "poise" , "leadership" is something HARD to see in practice. I watched a practice in 2004 and JR looks awesome out there. He is a helluva athlete.

but reps in practice isn't game day. Miles was probably trying to avoid the dreaded QB contreversy that went on in 04. AND JR did win us games. Hope he still does, and he will. So Miles thinks why change? most would say the same thing... if it aint broke why fix it? I don't know what Saban would have done, we can only guess, he's gone anyway. BUT from my point of view, Matt's touch on the ball, his execution and mobility would win him the job easily. This may not show up as well in practice.
But this year is over, who knows what they look like in the spring.

Example: Who would have thought after the playing by JV in 03, with the 2 MVP awards, that he would NOT start in 04? the contreversey ended rather quickly when Alley proved JV couldn't tote his jock.

SO I have NO CLUE who's going to be best next year. BUT whoever it is I hope they can throw as far as Jamarcus R and have the touch of MF and the execution of Matt Flynn.
  2. I'm not gonna say one QB is better than the other, but I will say this, Matt Flynn played better last night than J. Russell played all year. Look out for the QB controversy next year.
