Kristian: Jarius Byrd will visit New Orleans

A league has confirmed that free agent safety Jarius Byrd out of Buffalo will visit with the New Orleans Saints tonight.

Byrd has 22 interceptions over five years with the Bills including two for a touchdown. He also notched 356 total tackles, three sacks, 33 pass defenses, and 11 forced fumbles.

It wouldn't necessarily be easy for the Saints for cut a deal with Byrd; they'd almost certainly have to restructure some existing contracts. If the Saints really want to get it done, they will.
  2. Damn Dallas Radio. They like to blow their wads early.

  3. This just in:

Saints still haven’t released RB Darren Sproles and now plan to trade him due to heavy interest, per ESPN source. Not being released, though

  7. Wow. That's huge.

Upgrading from Jenkins to Byrd is like upgrading from Brooks to Brees. No doubt Loomis has plans on restructuring contracts and after adding a guy like Byrd to the roster, I am sure there will be people who won't argue with it. These guys are serious about remaining relevant for the foreseeable future.

I was hoping they might make a play for Andre Williams, but I think they have their heart set on one of those dynamic WRs in the draft like Beckham or Cooks.

  9. No way will Beckham be around when we're on the clock. The Jets are supposedly looking hard at him at #20, as are the Chiefs at #22. All of the mocks I'm seeing have us going defense at 27; most think DE. WR is possible in the second round, where I'd love to see us grab Jarvis. If he's gone, the big WR from Vanderbilt is a possiblity.
  10. At this stage in the game. there is no telling where he will go...
