Not just fresh, but LIVE tomatoes. My dad used to keep a big aluminum salt shaker with the big handle out at his workbench in the toolshed. He's just walk 20 feet over to the garden pull a tomato, wash the dust off at the water spigot, salt it and eat it still screaming. In fact we all did that.

Don't know what they are missing. Actually, my wife and I like to slice a 'mater, drizzle olive oil on it, shake a little salt and fresh ground black pepper and top it off with a thick slice of mozzarella. Washed down with glass of red wine, its delicious.

    PS I hate mayo!

I love fresh Tomatoes, my favorite ways are .....

#1 - Fried egg over-easy, couple shots of Tiger Sauce, slice of fresh tomato(salt and pepper, lil mayo on Evangeline Maid Bread.

#2 - Fresh tomatoes, sweet onion, fresh cucumber salad...Drizzled with EVOO, salt and pepper...(let it marinate in the fridge for 30mins, Dip fresh French bread in the juice, is best part)

There was a Death in the Family yesterday, Im still in mourning. But oh well...Had the Landscaping guys over for the weekly grass cut, and trim. One of the young guys cutting my back lawn, Hit my Baby Brandywine tomato plant...completely FUBAR'd it. Then on top of that, instead of leaving it alone...and saying sorry, I did not see it. He picks it up, and presses it in the ground...like I wouldn't notice.
