The guy that plays the star linebacker in this movie, can't think of his name, is the linebacker from Texas that returned the fumble for a td against LSU in the cotton bowl.

This movie is going to be really good. I read the book 2 years ago and it was one of the best books I have ever read.

Didn't Odessa Permian have a RB that was featured in the book, who came to LSU under Curley? The kids name escapes me, but he got dropped from the team when the coaching staff found out that he had like 5 different children by 3 different women in Texas and had numerous outstanding warrants for things ranging from simple burglary to non-payment of child support. Just another highlight of the Hallman era.
