That was a pretty fair analysis, although Campbell's history doesn't indicate that he should be the difference in the game. Nobody is looking at last year's LSU team in order to predict outcomes. They are looking at 2 games, OSU and ASU and, frankly, I cannot take issue with the prediction. Personally, I think we're going to drum the faux Tigers but my glasses have a slight P&G tint.

The media has all bought into the Big East/West Preseason Fantasy

USC versus Georgia ... there can be no others ...

Until ... of course, their narrow worlds come crashing down on them.

pretty good analysis. until we prove that we can win on the road in the SEC with a frosh QB, we'll be an underdog in these games - simple as that. it makes me laugh everytime I read a ridiculous post like this, implying that LSU has some right to be respected and never picked to lose by virtue of winning the NC last year. this is 2004, people not 2003. we haven't earned a thing yet and many people around here think it's our god-given right to be respected by opponents and the media. when we lose a game, there's gonna be a loud thump from people coming down from their respective thrones in the sky. wake up tiger fans - this team will endure some growing pains and not go undefeated. quit your bellyaching and get off the media, people.

I agree, if someone has an opinion their opinon must favor LSU or they get accused of these types of things. I't's really getting laughable.

That seemed like a pretty fair report, considering the way we played against Oregon St. :thumb:

The Tigers just don't need the "love" of the national media to succeed. They didnt have it last year and they did pretty damned good.

If LSU continues to win, the media will come around. They have to.

I can't think of another national media outlet that gave us as much respect as collegefootballnews.com gave the Tigers last year. After the Fl loss and we went on winning games against tough teams, they were hyping us as their outside pick for the title. Once it came down to Ok, LSU, and SC . . . they picked LSU as the best all round team last year.

I have no problem with any media outlet picking against the Tigers. Should we really expect all of them or any of them to always pick LSU to win every single game?

That kind of blind loyality is for the fans of the school, not paid broadcasters. And I know about ABC/ESPN's love of SC . . . but like they say, life is not fair.

i agree with everything on this thread.
We have played 2 games and one of those was pretty bad.
This team has to play to prove they deserve the respect of the media and other teams.
The defense is proven but the offense is very suspect.
Until they can prove they can put points on the board the offense will be tested in
    everyway possible.
