1. by the way, that's a terrible picture of my kid. He looks like he has a fish eye and a wall eye. He's actually really handsome (good genes).
  2. Then stop being a crappy dad and post some cuter pics of him, where he must favor his mother :)

I did like that pic btw, cool
  3. We may be going to Cyrpremort Point to crab. Looking into a cabin and I would want to attempt gigging flounder. All the equipment I need is a gig, light, boots and a stringer?

Linky no worky. How strong of a light is needed?

  4. Yeah, but I don't wear boots. I go barefooted. If anything, I'd wear waders, but my kid and I usually just go barefooted.

I have a lantern similar to this:

it has a small propane tank and takes 2 mantles.
  5. Thanks. I have some of those "boat shoes" I may wear. Or maybe even some slip ons. Just something to protect the bottom of my feet from glass, shells, stingrays...

So a hand-held LED light wouldn't be bright enough, right.

  6. It would have to be 1000 lumens to penetrate the water. A weak flashlight will just bounce off the top of the water.
  7. We use lights on poles that we hold under the water along the bottom. Tiga, I wear old tennis shoes for the same reasons you mentioned. Just remember to slide your feet so that you don't step on a stingray.
  8. 1000 Lumens? Slide your feet? I mean really!? Where in the hell do y'all get this information

  9. Tell ya what, come with one of us and don't slide your feet and see how the night goes ;)
  10. I bet she likes the light on, too.
