Dorsey is the top man in the running for the Lombardi and Outland Awards. 1. Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU: Dorsey is one of the biggest reasons LSU had the third-ranked defense in the nation last season. He posted 64 tackles, which is an enormous amount for a tackle. Consider that All-American DTs Quinn Pitcock of Ohio State and Alan Branch of Michigan – both projected as possible first round draft choices this season – managed 64 tackles combined... Read the rest HERE
The Rivals Spring Power Rankings are out with Dorsey the #1 DL, Crowton #5 OC, and Pellini the #3 DC.
Dorsey & Tyson Jackson are going to give Oline's nightmares. Tyson could be a top 10 pick as well after this year as a Jr. I hope we get one more year out of him because we're going to be having a lot of losses on defense after next year!
Five SEC teams in the top 10 and a former LSU coach. I like the respect Crowton gets and 2 LSU coaches in the past year in the top 5. Sums up the kind of coaching talent LSU brings in and develops.
Contending for national senior honors is a very good reason to turn down the NFL for another year and play college ball. If Russell had stayed, he'd be a Heisman candidate this year.
i think most look at way his QB's have developed and gotten better under his wing. in all actuality for every davey, there's a booty. for every mauck there's a randall. basically if a qb had decent talent, he could develop them.
Jimbo has coached six quarterbacks that made it to the NFL. Stan White and Dameyune Craig at Auburn plus Josh Booty, Craig Nall, Rohan Davey, and Matt Mauck at LSU. Jamarcus Russell will be #7. I'd call that a pretty damn good QB coach.
