It always amazes me when college and pro players toss the ball early. I've seen this many times and don't understand why guys do it. At least TM wasn't even close to being caught and the final score was a blowout. I love how the two douche bags on CBS were trying to make this into an issue. I'm more concerned about the players who lose the ball attempting to stretch it across the goal line. They often lose the ball and many are called TDs when they should be ruled a fumble.

The ref was signaling TOUCHDOWN. So Mathieu can say that the ref called TD and he was free to hand over the ball. But who cares. Everybody in the country knows that it was an walk-in TD and reversing it would have been worse chickenchit than the taunting call against Wing. This official did not want to take the "bad call" title away from the Bozo who called that one.
He told Chris Fowler after the game that he second-guessed himself right after he did it and looked back at the ref, who was "kind of looking at him funny". Exactly. If this had been a run play from the 1yd line, then there might be cause for controversy. But there wasn't a UGA player even in the same zip code as HB7, so they deserved to have 6pts put up against them.
It sucks that a ref can say you have a TD, so you toss him the ball, then they can take the TD away. Is that the rule? Awesome post!
Yes, it happened so quickly and it being an obvious non contested walk into the endzone that they have got to give him the TD call as it happened. Only the reply HD replay camera could have shown otherwise.
