1. I'm getting a bit tired of the health care debates so time for some change.

I have noticed many times during prayer and other teachings that some, and even maybe the majority, of religious people have God #1 and Family #2. Another way said they list it that way in order of importance in their life.

I was hoping for someone to explain this to me and whether they actually believe this or not. Also if they do believe this could they give me a few examples of when this is true and maybe when it's not?

For example you may give your whole heart to God but not as much to your family.

    Or...

For example if God came to Earth tomorrow and entered your house and told you and only you that you had to leave and go with "him" to Heaven would you do it and leave your family.
  2. To be honest, I believe we love God most when we love our family best. Our love of God cannont be separated from our love of others.
  3. I'm a heathen, so God ranks pretty far down my list.
  4. As I see it, God is everything, so your family is really a portion of God as you yourself are. This does not mean you love your family with less than your whole heart, just that God is all and the full extent of the love in your heart is not limited to the love for your family.
  5. of course. heaven is pretty awesome i have heard. plus your family would be there in a few years anyways. also you say god says you have to do it. you cant really refuse god, as i understand it.

i would also like to note that god is pretty awesome.

    is god everything, including satan?
  6. So in other words nobody is willing to admit that they are suppose to love God more than their Family because of the obvious delimma?
  7. He would smite you but you could stay with the family. Or perhaps you could strike a bargain and have Him take the wife and leave you there to support the kids.

martin, you seem to be up on these things. I watch shuttle launches in hopes of getting a glimpse of heaven. Do they just speed by the place, or do they have to go a lot higher?
    1 person likes this.
  8. Probably shouldnt mock God, just my belief.
  9. What's the dilemma again? Why would no one be willing to admit this? I'm confused.
  10. Well so far I haven't seen anyone do it out right..

Dilemma is who really wants to say that their family is #2...
