"He talked to them for a while, took pictures with them ... he had a blast."
I've always loved Shaq as a person first and as a player second. He was at Fort Sam Houston when I lived in SA at the time, I didn't keep up with him very much at the time but I remember to this day the ESPN highlites of him in the McDonalds All-American game and them saying he was going to LSU. I also watched some of Shaq's show on ESPN this basketball season, very interesting. Shaq and one other Heat player bought and delivered a semi full of Christmas gifts to needy children in the Los Angeles area last Christmas, i think he does this every year. Dale could always get quality people on his teams first, then players. I'm not sure what happened in the end except he knew the end was near. Fond memories here...
Shaq does more for kids than any other pro athlete in any major sport around the world. This guy is a big kid himself and loves to help poor children have a Thanksgiving, Xmas and Easter.....
